Tasmanian Rural Health Conference 2020 'The Future of Rural Practice'

CANCELLED

We have made the difficult decision to cancel the 'sell out' 2020 Tasmanian Rural Health Conference which was scheduled for the weekend 28-29 March in Burnie.

While the risk remains low in Tasmania, the impact of exposure to a single case of COVID-19 and the need for quarantining would have a significant impact on the rural medical workforce and their ability to serve their communities.

We investigated alternative electronic conferencing and live streaming but this was not possible from the venue.

We will look at the possibility of re-scheduling the conference to later in 2020 or early 2021.

We will arrange refund of registration fees to paying participants.

The Tasmanian Rural Health Conference 2020 will be focusing on 'The Future of Rural Practice', looking at changing clinical practice over the next 10-15 years, including workforce issues, public health, new primary care models as well as the impact of climate change.

This conference is aimed at current rural generalists, as well as students and trainees aspiring to become rural generalists.

If you would like to attend the Conference Dinner on the Saturday evening at Bayview's Restaurant & Function Room located on the Burnie waterfront. Please select a dinner ticket when you register to book your place (partners are welcome).
